As I've started my journey, I've come across one large stumbling block - new clients. I find that with someone new, it takes a lot longer to get through everything, especially with education. At first, I wasn't even doing goal balances with new folks, I'd just do a 14 MB in the clear. I found that they thought it was neat but almost no one returned, and I had the sense that they didn't understand the potential for the work. The same would be true of those who I did an ESR with the first session, usually because we couldn't get an AIM due to emotional distress. They didn't really understand the potential for TFH, even though I explained goal balancing.
Joyce gave me a tip: she said she does goal balances for first timers, and just gets as far as she gets. And with this I'd do a fix as you go balance so they get that experience. But so far I haven't enjoyed this method either. I find that by the time we get to the muscle balancing, their systems are fatigued and they want to go.
I always start with auriculars, zip ups and switching points to orient their system. Then we tried going into goal balancing dialogue. Then AIM prechecks, then into the balance. Usually I can get them through central and governing and they're ready to tap out.
How do you work a first session? How do you show the potential of the work without overloading their system?
Maybe I haven't found the right clients yet...
Which leads into another aspect of my inquiry - how do you all find clients? I'm still working on finding languaging for what it is that we do here. Something succinct, understandable and powerful.
I had an idea to do free events where I give folks mini balances, but I'm not sure how that looks yet - what would you include in this? How would you maybe do a mini balance?
Also thinking to host a paid/donation class where we dive in deeper and learn to balance each other's central & governing among other things.
There's a lot here - thanks for reading. I feel super stuck and deflated about it all right now so any feedback you have would be appreciated. 💚
Finding clients, your succinct language and putting together promotional mini demos and classes is a fun topic. First we need to know, who are you wanting to attract/who is the audience?
